The Factory is situated 25 km east of Sharjah City on the Sharjah-Dhaid road, 10 km beyond Sharjah International Airport.

The plant was commissioned in 1977 under the supervision of APCEM Engineering Co. Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of the world renowned cement manufacturers, Blue Circle Industries PLC, U.K. Sharjah Cement Factory (a division of Sharjah Cement & Industrial Development Co.)
